This Week in MWF Pre-K

Dear Families,

I hope you all had a nice weekend.  The cool weather is back!  The forecast is for rain tomorrow so please include rain boots and raincoats in your child’s bag so they can go outside and splash in some puddles.  :)

Last week we really enjoyed our firefighter visit from Edwin.  He brought his fire suit and oxygen tank so the kids could see what he would look and sound like if they ever needed to be rescued from a fire.  He also brought his puppet, Fireman Bob, who talked about stop, drop and roll and calling 911.  And the children were asked to talk with you about where to meet outside if there is a fire in the house.  …..  Friday we acted out “Big Pumpkin” and loved it!  We will definitely be doing more of that!

This week we will begin singing “BINGO Was His Name-o” with different words using the children’s names – just a couple each day.  Monday we will make “Emily’s spiders,” practice our fire safety skills and read Ghosts in the House by Kazuno Kohara.  Wednesday we will make ghosts with our footprints, talk about how our hands are the same and different, trace our hands with a partner and measure them with unifix cubes.  Friday we will bake pumpkin muffins during free choice, and decorate pumpkins with paint during our group time.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow!

Warmly, Tess
