Outdoor Assistant Teacher Opportunity at Valley Parent Preschool (Filled!)

(Filled) Do you love working with young children and their families but prefer a classroom without walls?  Valley Parent Preschool in Danville is looking for an Outdoor Assistant Teacher for Explorers, our popular and growing parent-participation nature program.  Classes are 100% outdoors in all types of weather (rain, sunshine, hail, wind, and more!) and take place at local nature areas including, but not limited to, San Ramon, Danville, Walnut Creek, and Concord.

Classes will begin in September and hours will typically be T,W,Th,F from 10:00-2:15, but can change somewhat based on enrollment each session.  VPP is a school year program and generally follows the SRVUSD calendar.  Explorers classes take place approximately thirty weeks per school year between September and May.

Applicants must have a minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education (or have completed 6 and be enrolled in 6 more), have experience working with young children, be CPR and First Aid certified, pass all required background checks, be able to lift and transport a wagon containing class supplies as needed, have reliable transportation, and be comfortable assisting the class teacher, parents, and children outdoors for multiple hours at a time.
